Legends Competition Team

Legends is an award winning competitive dance team that showcases the quality training our dancers get at RDA. Our competition team has a family atmosphere that provides an opportunity for those dedicated dancers who are looking for more of a challenge. In addition to their regular technique classes, these dancers will be learning competitive dances and have many more opportunities to perform in front of an audience. We believe in QUALITY training with an emphasis on PERFORMING. We pride ourselves in having well rounded dancers who are looking to IMPROVE and not “just win”. We are not only training our students to dance, but are influencing them to grow into responsible individuals who learn the importance of being accountable and how to be part of a team.

RDA is looking for good dancers who have a desire to learn new things and will support one another. With the right focus and guidance this experience can be an excellent path for dancers who want to be challenged and for those who want to continue dancing in college and/or professionally. Legends will provide them an opportunity to receive the correct training and will build their self confidence. This is a serious commitment that takes time and effort, but the rewards are many. Each time they gain a new skill, or take the stage and do their best is what it is all about.

Legends Informational Meeting:

If you are interested in learning more about RDA’s Legends Competition Team we will be having an informational meeting on Saturday, May 22nd at 10 AM. This meeting will explain weekly class requirements, fees, team building activities, fundraising opportunities, travel, competitions & more! During the meeting Robin will be hosting a FREE Legends Prep Class for any dancer interested in auditioning.

Intensive Information:

8 days of classes focusing on training, technique, & conditioning for dancers ages 6-18. Classes are from 9-12 PM on 6/21, 6/22, 6/23, 6/26, 6/27, 6/28, 6/30 & 7/1. The cost is $275 or $50/day. Age groups for the intensive are petites (6-8 yr olds), juniors (9-11 yr olds), teens (12-14 yr olds) & seniors (15-18 years olds). A detailed daily class schedule will be emailed soon.

Audition Information:

Dancers will audition a jazz combo and a lyrical/contemporary combo on Thursday, July 1st at 3:30 PM. The combos will be taught during the intensive classes on Sunday, June 27th & will be reviewed on 7/1. Dancers should wear any black dance attire with their hair pulled up and off their face. There is no fee to audition, but dancers must attend intensive classes on 6/27 & 7/1 to learn the audition combos.
